Packaging format

Sachet / Packet Films

Sachets and packets place demanding requirements on registration, seal integrity and tear behavior. Product chemistry, dose accuracy, fill temperature and distribution environment help define the structure.

What the specification must resolve

What to confirm before production.

Sachets and packets can package powders, liquids or creams, but each product changes seal contamination, burst, compatibility and opening requirements. Dose, headspace and fill temperature belong in the material decision.

Key considerations
  • Four-side, three-side or fin-seal format
  • Dose and headspace
  • Seal contamination and burst strength
  • Tear notch or easy-open structure
Common applications
  • Samples
  • Condiments
  • Supplements
  • Personal care

Where projects go off track

Confirm these details early.

01

Using the same sealant for chemically different products

02

Underestimating burst or flex during distribution

03

Locating tear features without considering product migration and dose

01Product, fill and performance target
02Filling line, dimensions and material inputs
03Samples, trials, graphics and final approval

A common question

Are sachet and stick-pack films interchangeable?

Not automatically. Equipment geometry, lane layout, forming, seal pattern, tear direction and product behavior can require different stiffness, slip and sealing characteristics.
